Conference Weekend

Conference weekend was awesome! I really do LOVE watching and listening to General Conference! There is nothing better than hearing from our prophet and apostles. I always feel so uplifted and inspired to become a better person! I love that there are always talks that are totally meant for me, I know that they aren't really directed towards me exactly, but they feel that way. I love being called out on the things I'm struggling with and realize that I really need to step up my game and work on my spiritual progression. Lately I have felt like I am stuck in this rut and conference really gave me the direction I need to get out of it! I just love the gospel so much. The church is true everybody!
Steve unfortunately missed out on some of conference because he was spending his entire weekend in the car pretty much. He had interviews for Optometry Schools in Arizona and California over the weekend. He went with his buddy Joe that was interviewing at the schools as well. They drove down to Arizona Thursday night, interviewed at Midwestern in Glendale Friday morning, then drove to Fullerton California Friday afternoon. They interviewed at Southern California College of Optometry Saturday morning and then drove back to Cedar Saturday night! Sounds like fun huh? NOT! That is why I decided to stay home this time. Steve said he ate the most deliciously huge pastrami burger ever in California though and that made it worth all the driving! haha

After conference on Saturday night, my friend Dawn and I went to St. George to go to Tai Pan for Ladies Night! It was a lot of fun! We got some really great deals on stuff and we got free bakeware that is super cute! When we got back to Cedar, we decided to hit up Deseret Book which was great because we missed the crowd. There were only like 5 people left in the store, but the sale went all night long so I couldn't pass up buying a new cookbook that I have wanted for months! It was a great time! I sure do love shopping....probably a little too much considering the amount left in my bank account is well....somewhat low lately! I blame that on Steve though and all of his Optometry interviews.
Speaking of Steve and his optometry interviews, my amazing husband has already been accepted into 2 schools! We found out a few days after we got back from Memphis that he got in to SCO(Tennessee) and we found out today that he got into SCCO(California)!!!!! We couldn't be more happy about this. These have been our top 2 choices of schools since he started the whole application process back in July. And I know that everyone is thinking that this is a no brainer and that we should obviously choose California, but do you people know how expensive it is to live in California? For a 2 bedroom apartment without a washer or dryer it is 1,700 dollars a month! I can't get over it! Why don't I just give you my arm and leg and not even get the privilege of doing my own laundry in my apartment in return! However, when I think of being only 7 miles away from Disneyland, and only 25-30 minutes away from the beach, I just don't know how we can pass that up? Steve of course is the logical thinker and thinks that we should go to Tennessee because it is A LOT more affordable! But when I see these pictures of the beach in beautiful California, I just want to move there really bad!

However when I think of those delicious ribs we ate a couple of weeks ago in Tennessee, I can't help but want to move there so we can eat them EVERY weekend! Not to mention, the people in the South are the nicest people I have ever met. Everyone was so kind to us while we were there. We loved it:)
