Motivate me Monday!


This week's MMM was to post some New Year's Resolutions. I know I did a New Year's Resolutions post already, but this one is going to be specifically about my health resolution. The challenge was to post a REALISTIC resolution and what I will do to stick to it! So.......my REALISTIC resolution is to EAT CLEAN and hopefully lose 10 pounds while doing so! I was reading somebody else's blog who linked up for MMM today and I was totally inspired! Seriously this is what I love about MMM so much:) I love that other people are going through the same struggles as I am with their health and fitness, and I LOVE that we can link up here and find motivation to get ourselves healthy! I also love when people post about their successes with health/fitness, because then it makes me want to be hard core too and be successful with my health/fitness goals:)

So when I say that I want to EAT CLEAN, I mean that I want to develop healthy eating habits that will stick. I'm so done with dieting because I can never stick to a stupid diet for longer than 2 weeks and honestly what good is a diet, if the minute you are done with the diet you just go back to your old crappy eating habits? This is me to a T! Before Thanksgiving I did a diet for 2 weeks and lost 7 pounds and it was wonderful. But guess what? I gained 4 pounds back over Christmas and New Years because I fell back into my crappy eating habits. So I'm starting fresh. I'm going to change my eating habits by eating more fruits and vegetables and less carbs and treats. When I want a snack, I'm going to grab an orange or a handful of carrots instead of wheat thins and pretzels. For breakfast, I'm going to have a banana and yogurt instead of 2 huge bowls full of captain crunch. And for lunch, I'm going to stick with salad. I'm going to eat clean:) I'm going to fuel my body with healthy foods that make me happy instead of overloading it with carbs that slow me down and make me feel tired all the time. I'm not going to cut out carbs completely or anything like that because please let's get real, carbs are my favorite food group! haha But I'm going to cut back because sadly, my favorite foods are making me have a fat butt!

So I'm going to focus on eating A LOT more of these

And when I get done working out at the gym and I'm feeling good about myself, I'm going to remember that just because I did something good like work out it DOESN'T mean that I deserve some ice cream.

And most importantly I'm going to remember this

Because this is SO SO SO TRUE! I can eat the same amount of calories in 10 minutes, that it took me 2 hours to burn off in the gym. So here is to EATING CLEAN in 2012. I'm done eating crappy and feeling guilty about the junk that I chose to fuel my body with. Starting now, I'm making smart choices about what I eat:)

  1. i love the idea to just eat clean.. hah i love in ice age when diago has sid in his mouth and manny tells him to spit him out....and diago says "i dont eat junk food!!!" hahaha i always think of that when i say no more junk food!!!
