I did it! I signed up for the Bryce Canyon 1/2 Marathon! I'm really excited about it and really nervous at the same time. My sister in law Emily Albrecht did the Bryce Canyon half last summer and I have been wanting to do a half marathon ever since. I know it sounds crazy because I am definitely not the typical runner, but luckily I have friends and family that have done half and full marathons and have inspired me to get off my lazy butt and get in shape too! So I started my 12 week training schedule this week and so far so good.....of course my long run is only 4 miles this week......but I'm feeling good so far. Over the next 12 weeks I'm really going to try and eat healthy too. It is crazy how much better I feel, and how much more energy I have when I am running, IF I have eaten healthy foods. When I have had a bunch of junk or over eaten, I really have a hard time running and it is hard for me to breathe.
So here is to eating healthy, losing a few pounds, and hopefully running my butt off. Seriously, these saddle bags of mine have got to go!
