The 4th of July is my absolute favorite holiday of the year! And after being in Memphis for the past 2 summers and missing Richfield's Independence Day celebration, I honestly couldn't wait for this weekend to come!
Larry and Janae bought a burger joint in Torrey called Slackers. Torrey did their celebrations on Saturday, and Larry and Janae were throwing candy in the parade to advertise for Slackers, so we headed over that morning to watch the parade.
Parker and Ellie didn't so much care about the parade, they mostly just fought over this little red camping chair......remind me to buy a second one for this summer!
After the parade, we headed over to Slackers for some lunch. It was delicious and I'm excited to get back over there this coming summer.
Saturday night Steve and I went to our 10 year high school reunion. It was so strange to realize how old we've gotten! haha
Independence Day was on a Sunday, so Richfield did their celebrations on Monday.
I talked Kaylee into waking up early and running the 5k with me. I took me 33 minutes to finish, so I definitely wasn't very fast, but it was an improvement from the last one I did. So we'll call it a win!
Ellie loved the parade this go around thanks to all of the older cousins showing her how to grab lots of candy!
Braylee, Kaylee, and Ellie
Parker was mostly just hot and grumpy, and wanted to go home and have a nap.
Me and Gilly after the parade. I don't know how this cute girl is old enough to be a freshman in high school already.
My brother Scott set up this giant slip and slide in my parent's backyard and all of the kids loved it.
Oh this food. This is what makes the holidays so great! I LOVE when my dad and brothers dutch oven. There is just nothing better.
Waiting to watch fireworks. Both Parker and Ellie stayed up until like 10:30 when the fireworks were over and they loved it. Parker kept saying "Ooh" the whole time and turning his head every direction trying to figure out where all the noise was coming from. haha
