Steve had a couple of days off from school at the end of June while all of the doctors were at some conference, so we spent the day Thursday in downtown Memphis. We took Ellie to see the ducks at the Peabody which she of course loved! I couldn't even get her to look at the camera long enough to get a decent picture. She was too busy saying "Cack" and pointing at the ducks:)
Then we headed over to the Mud Island River Park. It has a scale replica of the Mississippi River and is actually a really cool place. We had never walked the entire river before, so we decided to roast to death and walk the whole thing. It was really fun!
We all had to take our shoes off and get in the water to cool down multiple times while we were there!
We made it clear to the Gulf of Mexico:)
Then on Friday we took a road trip with the Andersons to Tupelo MS to check out Elvis Presley's birthplace. We aren't huge Elvis fans or anything, but Tupelo is only about an hour away from us, so we decided it would be worth the drive.
This is the house he was born in and lived in until he was 12 yrs old. It was so tiny! It just has 1 bedroom, and a kitchen.
This is the church that Elvis grew up singing at as a boy.
Then after lunch we went to this really awesome car museum. I wasn't expecting it to be that great, but I think we were all pleasantly surprised!
I want one of these:)
The museum even had one of Liberace's cars! We spent the rest of the weekend swimming and relaxing at home. It was so nice to have Steve home to hang out with us for a couple of days:)
