Florida!

We went to Fort Walton Beach Florida last week for Steve's spring break.  It is only an 8 hour drive down to the gulf coast from Memphis, so we decided we better make the trip while we live so close. On the drive down, we drove clear across the state of Mississippi and let me tell you that the further south we got, the less houses we saw, and the more trailers we saw in all of their redneck glory! We can honestly say now after driving through the back country of Southern Mississippi, that we have really experienced the South! Just outside of Mobile Alabama, I would say for probably 20 miles there was nothing but trailer homes and churches. And some of these churches were seriously just tiny little shacks with benches outside under tin roof pavilions for people to sit on. It was pretty crazy. I just wish I would have taken some pictures to remember the wonderful back country with:)
Anyways, Fort Walton Beach was beautiful! The sand was seriously so white, we couldn't get over it all week. Like it really glows in the dark. We tried to take pictures at night, but our camera wouldn't do it justice.

Our condo building right on the beach.
The bridge from the backyard that takes you right to the beach!

Sadly, it was kind of cold all week so we never got to ditch our jackets and work on our tans.

Don't mind my cankles, I have apparently reached the swelling part of pregnancy.

We spent a lot of time enjoying the sunshine from these chairs because it was too cold to actually sit on the beach.

Steve enjoyed a round of golf, and I enjoyed driving the golf cart of course:)
I'm pretty sure we were the only couple in Fort Walton Beach all week that wasn't over 65 and retired. Most of our neighbors, who were all snowbirds from Canada, didn't even leave their condos all week. But considering that we don't drink or party, and we are in bed by 10:00pm most nights, I felt like we fit right in:)  We were a little bummed that it was so cold all week, but we still enjoyed relaxing and not having to do anything all week!
