Ellie being a snowflake at Target:)
These are really crappy pictures, but everything black in both pictures are all birds! We drove up to the Stake Center to attend the Nativity Festival, and there were like a million birds in this field at Shelby Farms. We couldn't figure out what was going on or why there were so many birds, but now I kind of understand those dumb horror movies they make about killer birds! It was really kind of creepy. haha
There were hundreds of different nativity sets from all over the world. It was pretty cool.
Loving her hat at Stake and Shake!:)
A few days before we left for Utah for Christmas break, little one got croup. Leave it to her to get sick right before we fly to Utah again! haha it's okay, we still love you Ellie.
She woke up barking like a seal (literally it sounded just like a seal) Friday morning, and both Steve and I were like crap, this can't be a normal cold she's getting. She did okay Friday night, just woke up crying and coughing a few times throughout the night, but we were able to get her calmed down and her breathing seemed okay too. Then Saturday night it seemed to be like 10 times worse all of the sudden. She woke up at 12:45am and could not stop coughing. It was like she was gasping for air in between her coughs, and of course she was crying too. Steve was pretty worried and thought we needed to take her to the ER. When I couldn't get her calmed down after like 10 minutes, and she was still acting like she couldn't catch her breath, I agreed and we headed for the hospital. When we got there, her heart rate was 200 and her oxygen levels were in the 80s. It was pretty scary! They checked us right in and gave her a dose of steroids, and a breathing treatment right away to open her airway. Within 30 minutes she was back to her happy self again! I was amazed at how quickly the meds worked. I'm so grateful for modern medicine! The doctor kept us for about 2.5 hours just to keep an eye on her and make sure that her airway was going to stay open. We finally got the okay to head home and made it back to our apartment at 5:00am. So it was a long night, and we were grateful that it was Sunday so we could all stay home and sleep, and Steve didn't have to worry about going to school.
