Christmas Devotional

On Sunday night we watched the First Presidency Christmas Devotional.  I look forward to this all year long.  I love the Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing Christmas songs, and I love love LOVE hearing Christmas messages from the prophet:)
I mean seriously though, how do you not look at this guy, and not just love him to pieces?  I was reminded on Sunday night of how much I love our wonderful prophet.  Every time I hear him speak, the spirit testifies to me that he really was called of God to be our prophet.  I LOVED his story about his primary teacher and I loved that he called himself Tommy Monson.  It made me feel like he was just an ordinary guy going to visit an old friend at a nursing home.  When he tells his personal stories, it makes me realize how easy it should be for all of us to serve others around us and to be Christlike.  I mean is it any surprise at all that this amazing man was called to be the prophet? Of course not.  He has been kind to others, and has found ways to serve others, since the day he was born pretty much.  But his story about his primary teacher inspired me to REALLY want to be more Christlike.  So that's my goal for this holiday season.  Hopefully I can show more kindness to everybody around me and find little ways to serve others.  Hooray for Christmas time!!  It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
