Steve's family was camping up at Fishlake over Labor Day weekend so we decided to head up and join them for the day. Ellie has been asking to go camping in the mountains since like July, so Steve stayed up Saturday night and camped with Ellie, and I headed back to Richfield with Parker for the night. The wind was blowing like crazy, and of course Parker hated that, not to mention I was paranoid about trying to keep him out of the wind, because you know....you're not really supposed to take newborn in the wind. Anyways, the wind made it kind of miserable, BUT we still enjoyed being on the mountain for a bit. Fishlake is simply beautiful and one of my most favorite places so I always enjoy being there no matter what.
Bodie, Ellie, and Heston. Kids don't care if it's cold and windy, they just love being able to play outside all day long:)
All of our winter clothes were still packed, and I simply just don't expect it to be very cold I guess. I lived in the South for too long! haha Either way, we were unprepared for spending the day in the freezing weather on the mountain. All I packed for Ellie was a light jacket. Luckily everyone else was prepared and had warm clothes for their kids. So Ellie got to borrow her cousin Heston's sweatshirt. It was huge! But I thought she looked pretty cute in it:)
Cute Preslie. She loves Ellie so much! She's only 2 years older than Ellie, but she thinks she's big enough to lift her in the high chair, help her go potty, and everything else haha.
Steve and Ellie spent the night Saturday, and then came home Sunday morning before church at 1:00pm. Steve said it got pretty cold that night and he was worried all night about Ellie being warm enough in the tent, so they kind of had a long night. But he said it was still fun and he would take her camping again!
On Monday we went on a little hike up Marysvale Canyon to see Bullion Falls. I didn't actually hike up to the Falls because I was worried about doing something to hurt my incision, but Steve went up with the kids and my brother Steve's family.
There was a ton of old mining equipment up the canyon that was pretty cool to see.
Addie, Ellie, Alli, and Courtney. Ellie loves playing with these girls so much! It's so fun to have so many cousins!
Steve packed Parker the whole way up to the falls, and he said that at one point he carried Ellie on his shoulders too! Super-Dad for sure!
I'd say Labor Day weekend was a success. We love being able to get out and spend time in the mountains so much!
