Our first couple of weeks at home with Parker were CRAZY! Ellie had a really hard time having to share Mom and Dad with baby brother, and I have never been more exhausted in all my life. On multiple occasions I just cried to both my mom, and Steve about the fact that I just wanted to go to sleep and stay asleep for longer than 3 hours at a time! haha The newborn stage really is so hard for me! I love it because I love to snuggle my tiny baby constantly, but I hate it at the same time because I feel like a zombie 24/7 and all I can think about is how much I want to take a nap! Thankfully my mom stayed in Mississippi with us for an additional week after my dad went home, and then our wonderful friends brought in meals and took Ellie to play with their kids so she wasn't stuck in the house with me all day. Seriously, we had the most amazing friends in our ward there. I never would have survived those 3 weeks after Parker was born and before we moved, without them!
Whenever Steve or I are in the bathroom, Ellie has to stick her fingers under the door and ask us what we're doing. haha!
Grandma Sheila gave Parker his first bath, which he hated. This kid seriously hates to be naked and cold!!
Parker got these big red sores all over his little body within the first couple of hours after he was born. It was almost like baby acne, only they were really big and covered his whole body. Ellie never had this so I was a little concerned, but the nurse reassured me that it was totally normal. She called it Newborn Rash and said that it's caused by all of my hormones trying to work their way out of the baby's body. He had it for about a week and then it started to go away. It didn't seem to bother him at all, but I felt bad that he had those big red pimples all over him:(.
Ellie "helping" Dad pack boxes.
Oh how I love that sweet little face:)
I found Parker surrounded by his bow ties one morning. Thanks for helping him accessorize Ellie! haha
I was putting Ellie's shorts on her after she went to the bathroom and she says, "Mom these shorts too tight!" I looked down and realized I had put both of her legs through the same hole! haha
Why are sleeping babies so sweet?!
Ellie asks me at least once every day, "Can I hold the little man?".
Did I mention that we're tired? Most of the time I find Steve like this:)
Steve had to go to Charlotte North Carolina to take his clinical part of boards when Parker was just 2 weeks old. He drove down with 4 of the other guys in his class. They basically spent 9 hours driving there, slept, took the 4 hour test, then spent 9 straight hours driving back home. I was a basket case the whole time he was gone, because like I said before, having 2 kids is CRAZY and I was so not ready to be alone with them yet! So needless to say, it was a long 2 days for all of us!
Steve did say it was a pretty drive though:)
So many boxes! I had no idea we accumulated so much stuff over the past 3 years!
Lyndsey took Ellie to Pool Day one last time the week before we moved and Ellie loved it so much! She just loves all of her friends so much!
I don't know how, but we survived the first 3 weeks of being parents of 2 amongst Steve taking boards, and packing up our entire apartment!
